Janice graduated with a degree in Community Development in 1995 and has since added to her academic qualifications by obtaining certificates from the Northern College of Education, National Examination Board for Supervision and Management, The Academy of Aromatherapy and Massage, the National Open College Network, NADA, Yellow Mountain Institute of Acupuncture, Medical Qi Gong, and Integrative Medicine, as well as the Forth Valley College and the Tir Na nOg Holistic Centre. These qualifications have helped expand her knowledge on how substances affect families and has allowed her to develop a unique style to provide support to the complex and intricate emotional problems that occur from substance abuse.

Janice has taken the organisation from only offering a telephone helpline service to a well-respected and successful organisation that delivers a range of quality services in Stirling and across Forth Valley.                                            Family Support/Development Worker

Anne has been with SFSS since 2007 and has a range of qualifications pertinent to delivering effective Family Support. She is a qualified midwife, and gained a degree in Midwifery from Stirling University in 2000 which included modules in Sexual Health and Counselling skills. Anne is also qualified to facilitate and run various parenting programmes, including parent 2 parent and the Solihull parenting programme. Before coming to SFSS, Anne worked with the local authority as a Family Support Officer-the first of her kind in the area.

Anne's combined experiences have provided to be very useful as much of her work involves supporting kinship carers in their roles of looking after children due to of loved ones substance misuse. Anne also provides a range of other services, including home visits, educational workshops regarding substance abuse and how to overcome it e.g. staged school interventions, hearings, and prison visits. She also supports family members communicate effectively with the Department of Work and Pensions as well as to find housing opportunities. If you are looking to overcome your own or another substance abuse and move on by finding jobs and new opportunities, contact Anne

In addition to the above staff, the organisation employs a range of session staff to deliver key aspects of the service. This includes the provision of complementary therapies and counselling services. The organisation is also supported by a team of volunteers who operate the telephone helpline and other services.
